Hello everybody! I haven't been blogging for sooooo long I hardly know where to start! Life has been very busy and now spring is around the corner and soon it will be time to garden. We are building raised beds this year and am looking forward to seeing how they work out.

Next week our baby chicks will arrive, we will be getting a variety of 8 layers and 30 brooders for in the freezer, I will post pictures when they come. Can't wait till the peeps arrive!

I'm working on a rag rug right now, my grandson and I started making them together and they are turning out real neat! Will photo when finished. Also have several quilts to do, so I am not lacking for something to do!

Our children and grandchildren are all staying busy and doing great! I hope this finds you all in good health and doing fine! Will post more later.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner!

Today I finished gathering up all the goodies for Thanksgiving dinner. What a relief it is to know that I don't have to go and battle the grocery crowd again!!!!

The menu is the following: Turkey, 2 kind's of dressing (corn and regular bread dressing), mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, twenty four hour salad, cranberry salad, rolls, pumpkin pie, apple pie, raspberry pretzel dessert.

This year we will just have 2 of our children's family's for dinner. Jareds and Jessalynns. A total of 14 people. It will be a fun day! Jennifer's will be in PA and Joshua's in Indiana. We will miss them!

I hope this finds everybody in good health and good spirits! Enjoy these times with your family's and make lot's of good happy memories!!!!!!

Our Son Joshua And His Family

This was taken after we came down from our ride.

I'm Back! It's Been A Long Summer!!!!

This past spring and summer has been very busy and I'm sorry that I was away for so long but with gardening and summer visitors and then a 3 week trip with my hubby up the East Coast and into Maine there just was no blogging time! Now with fall and winter around the corner I hope to get back on track!

My oldest daughter and her family has just moved to Pennsylvania, which leaves me feeling very sad!!!!!! But I know that it is whats best for them, so I'll try to get over it!

Our youngest daughter is expecting her third baby and will be a home birth and is due in October. Please say a prayer that everything goes okay for her! This baby will make our 15th grandchild!

Lets see...... Since I last wrote we planted garden and did the canning thing and etc.
In July my oldest Sister from Wyoming and my husbands brother from Ohio and his wife came for a visit, also our youngest Son from Indiana and his family came in June.

Then the middle of July we headed up the coast, starting in North Carolina and ending up in Maine. Then back through Lancaster PA and into Ohio and Indiana to visit family. It was a wonderful three weeks!!!. Spent time on the boardwalk in Atlantic City NJ. Was able to go view where 9-11 happened and toured Manhattan NY! Went to Cape Cod MASS. Plymouth MASS also! Ate lots of lobster and seafood!!!! Did some antiquing! Viewed lots of light houses, which I LOVE!

While we were in Indiana we took our son and family to a dairy farm called Fair Oaks Dairy. It was awesome! Was able to see a calf being born and how they milk and make cheese and homemade ice cream.

Also went to a place called Conner's Prairie, where we took a ride in one of the worlds biggest helium balloon's. The whole setting for this place was done to be like the early 1830's and 1860's. Was really neat!

Needlessly to say it's been busy, and I loved every minute of summer, but I'm now open armed and waiting for fall and a slower pace of life!!!

Hope this finds you all well and hope to hear how your summer went!

Here I am rocking in my rocking chair by the wood stove, while everyone is sleeping away! It is only 13 degrees out. That's cold for Georgia!
This past weekend my husband tilled my garden! I have spring fever! And its time to start planting lettuce and green peas. My son called me 3 times yesterday to just talk about gardening!!!!! I think everyone is ready for spring!
My youngest daughter is planning to put out a large garden this year and I hope to be able to help her with the canning part of it. It is good to see our children enjoying the labors of gardening and providing for their families!!!
I ordered my garden seed and it should be coming any day now. I feel like a child waiting for Christmas to come!!! I get so excited over gardening!
Well, I have been up for several hours now so I think I will go back to bed and try to grab a few winks before the sun comes up! Take care my sweet friends!

The other day I was at the grocery and found this little treasure. It's a Weeping Pussy Willow.

When I first purchased it all the buds were completely closed, since then they have opened.

In the summer I will transplant it outside. It is a beautiful little bush.

I love Orchids!
When we lived in South Florida my hubby built me a green house especially for Orchids. So now living in Georgia I still collect them. Someday maybe I'll get a green house here!

I keep them in the house in the winter and then in the summer I put them out on my porch in a shady area. They are pretty easy to grow and re-bloom every year. You should try them if you don't already have some.
