This past weekend our son Joshua and his wife Emily and there 4 children, Ashlyn, Lauryn, Windsor and Watson came to visit from Indiana.
We all were at our oldest son's house (Jared's) for lunch on Sunday. There were 11 adults and 14 grandchildren. Sooooo you can just imagine what fun we had!!!! We all played a game called occupation in the afternoon. It was really fun! The kids played all day and had a great time together!
Jared had smoked 2 great big pork butt's on the green egg for about 27 hours at 200 degrees. That was the best pulled pork I have ever tasted!!!!!!! He had also made a homemade barbecue sauce to go with it. Yum, Yum!!!!! We also had gourmet potatoes, green beans, salad, pumpkin pie,
apple pie, pecan pie, orange fluff & friendship sugar cookies.
It was a wonderful day!!!!!

Just wanted to share the view off of my back deck. It is beautiful!!!!

You sure can tell fall is here! I live in the middle of a woods, and I'm beginning to wonder if there is a lawn under all those leaves!

I need to have the grand kids over to help me rake and then they can jump in the big piles like I used to do when I was a kid! Such fun!!!!

Today I spent most of the morning and early afternoon cleaning. I also blogged on my other blog where I post my recipes. If you want to check it out it's at , I still need to go to twitter and catch up there.

I still need to list some items on eBay. My eBay name is gpaandgma if you ever want to check it out. It's a fun way to clean out your closets and yet make a little extra moo la while your at it. Mostly my greatest amount of listings are at which is a part of eBay.

I guess it's getting time to start on dinner. Hope everybody is having a great Saturday!!!!

I'm getting ready for the last debate. It will be interesting to see how it turns out!

I spent the day in town and I'm worn out! Going to town is harder on me than working all day! I have already plopped myself down in the Lazy boy chair and have my feet up. All I need now is popcorn!!!!

Hope everyone has had a Great Day! Keep smiling!!!!

It is finished!

Yesterday I mentioned that I wanted to clean the garage out, well I started at 12:00 and by 5:30 I was finished! What a difference! It is so clean and organized, find myself sticking my head out there every whip stitch and checking it out!

I didn't get to listing anything on eBay today but, there is always tomorrow! And while cleaning out the garage I came across more items to list.

As for dinner I grilled steaks on the green egg and made baked potatoes, baked beans and a salad. It was delicious! I don't know if you are familiar with the green egg, but if you have never grilled on one, you have never tasted anything like it!! It's the best grill ever!!!!!!!

I'm going to go and add a recipe on my other blog at
and then I'm going to bed!

Hope you all had a wonderful day!

Today was an awesome day! I spent most of the morning hours getting the things that I sold (over the weekend), at ready to ship. Plus I was able to catch up on bookwork.

After lunch I went outside. The weather was perfect for working in the yard!
I was able to mow the yard and clean up some of my flower and herb beds. The basil, oregano & thyme, all grew like crazy this past summer. There was a nice fall like breeze the whole time that I worked. It felt so good!

It really lifted my spirits, and put my mind at ease! We all have been sooooo heavily burdened with the worries of the economy and the election. I recommend that every body should get outside and dig in the soil or putter in your gardens every now and then. (It really is good for you!)

Tomorrow I plan to list some new items on eBay. Also I would like to clean my garage out!!!!

I hope you all had a Great Day!

Approaching The End Of Another Great Weekend

We had a great weekend! Our daughter and her four children came and stayed the whole weekend.
She has two twin daughters that are 15 years old and a son who is 3 and another daughter who is 3 months old. Needless to say there wasn't a boring moment!!!!!
The twins are growing up so fast and are very sweet young lady's! I'm so proud of them! The 3 year old is into Lego's and he played on the Nintendo WII for the first time. It's amazing how fast they can figure out how to play! The baby is so good and she is beginning to reach for toys and trying to talk back to us with her cute little baby sounds! It's wonderful to be a grandma.

We spent the whole time playing with the kids and enjoying each others company! My daughter and I spent some time working on our blogs together, as we are both new to this.

Friday night we had Taco Soup and a salad for dinner.

Saturday night our other daughter came over with her husband and two children. She brought lasagna for dinner and I had made a salad and garlic bread and raspberry pretzel dessert. Lots of laughter and fellowship with each other!

Sunday we all went out for Chinese at lunch and then it was time for our oldest daughter to head home.

Now I'm in my lazyboy with my feet up, resting! Another week is approaching and I wonder what it will bring. We will see how the economy does and what happens with the election.
It has been nice to have the distraction with our children here all weekend!

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Today the rain came down all day long! It was a day that you just wanted to curl up on the couch and turn the TV on and enjoy a good movie!
Which is just what I did. I had all my housework and bookwork caught up soooooo, why not!
We deserve to have a lazy day every now and then! I sure enjoyed it!

For dinner I made pizza, which was very simple. We always have homemade applesauce when we have pizza. They really are good together! You should try it sometime!

Tomorrow I want to see about starting a new quilt. Are there any quilters out there reading this?
If so , let me know what your working on. It's always good to hear about other people's ideas and projects.

I talked to my sister out in Wyoming today and they are already getting ready for a snow. I can't believe winter is already around the corner!

I hope you all had a GREAT DAY! ;)

I Love Wire Haired Dachshunds

Wire Haired Dachshunds are the greatest pets! We have two. The oldest is one is 5 years old, his name is Hoover and he is a red wire haired.
When we first got Hoover we also had his brother, Murphy. When they were about a year old Murphy died. Every since Hoover has missed Murphy sooooooooooo much!
Well, about 8 weeks ago we heard about a litter of wire haired dachshunds that had been rescued, so we went and checked them out and came home with little Millie!
Hoover just loves her!!! She is a dapple (mostly gray and some black and brown). Wire haired also. So cute!

The two of them have become best of friends and it really seems to have filled that void for Hoover.
They run and play together and also sleep in the same bed. Usually with Millie resting her head up on top of Hoover.
I will try to post some pictures later on for you to see.

Pets are wonderful and bring much happiness into our home!

Have You Ever Thought About Ebay?

I have eBayed since 2002. I have made 724 transactions. It's a great way to bring in a little extra income! You can sell clothes that you don't need anymore, to household items to who knows what. Everything is on eBay! It's great for you mom's who have little one's outgrowing their clothes quicker than you can turn around!

Also you can go to or and sell your used books. Another great way to bring in that extra income!

All you need is a computer and a digital camera and your set! I will be glad to give advice on figuring these out if you need help getting set up. Just post a comment and I'll get back to you!

This past month I cleared over $600.00 working on these sites. It's Great!

Another Day Gone! Where Did It Go?????

Whew!!!! I can't believe how time passes when you are busy!
It seems like Tuesday, not Thursday!!!! Today was filled with the everyday housework plus errands, and then let's not forget the bookwork for our business! Not enough hours in a day!

I'm really getting tired of hearing about this bailout bill!!! How do you feel about this? Can hardly wait until the debate tonight!

I live in Georgia, and we have been having to deal with the gas shortage on top of everything else!
It seems with everything that is going on, it really works on your nerves!

Well, I guess I have vented for long enough so I will switch to the lighter side! The leaves on the trees are starting to turn and it's beginning to feel like fall. I live in the mountains and it is beautiful! It doesn't cost me a thing to look out my window and enjoy the beauty outside!

When I was a kid, we used to gather the prettiest leaves and iron them between wax paper. Something you can do with your kids and it's free. They can use them for bookmarks.

What's For Dinner?

Here we are approaching dinner time. I thought I would add a recipe that my family loves. It's easy, fast and made all in one pan!

One Pan Stroganoff

1 lb hamburger 1/2 c. mushrooms
1/2 c. onion 4 to 6 oz. noodles, uncooked
1/2 tsp. garlic powder 3 to 3 1/2 c. water
1 tsp. salt 2 T. parsley flakes
1/2 tsp. pepper 1 c. sour cream
2 beef bouillon cubes 1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 T. lemon juice

Brown the hamburger and onion in a large skillet. Stir in the remaining ingredients, except parsley and sour cream and soup. Simmer 20 minutes or until noodles are soft and liquid is mostly absorbed. Stir in parsley, sour cream, and mushroom soup. Heat but don't boil.

Living Day to Day In These Tough Times

Today more than ever, we need to be thankful for those things in which we already have! Make use and share with those in need!
I'm in my middle 50's and have very little that I need and way toooo much that I have already accumulated! I'm not rich!!! But yet I feel very fortunate for the knowledge my parents passed onto me, as far as survival in tough times. I know how to garden and then can and put away food for my family. I would love to be able to share this with young people and older also, if they need help. I also love to cook and sew and these things come in handy at times like these. If you need help coming up with something, just ask!

We need to tighten down the hatches as far as spending! Get back to the basics! We went through Hurricane Andrew and lost everything we owned; our house, business, and all belongings. At the time we had our own 4 children plus 2 foster children. It was tough!
And you would be surprised at how much you can live without! Believe me, we found out! And we got along just fine. I feel we actually are better off, from going through that experience! Although I would never wish it upon anyone!

As far as this bailout bill not being passed, I'm for letting wall street work there own way out of this mess. And hopefully they will learn from their mistakes! I don't think we as the people should be made to suffer from their mistakes!

We had to pull ourselves back up from complete loss after the hurricane. And we never had one penny of help! We had been married 20 years and lost everything that we had accumulated and saved for during that period of time. It was hard, but we survived!

If anybody has any ideas to help family's go from day to day and make the best of it , please feel free to post!

Have a great day and keep your chins up!
